David Hillman scheduled four days to complete his Eagle Scout project, to build eight boardwalks through Great Brewster Woods. He finished it in one.
Thus has gone most of Hillman’s scouting career. At 16 years old, he’s only a junior at B. C. High, yet he has fulfilled all the requirements to become an Eagle Scout and was promoted at his Eagle board of review on Monday.
Scouts have until their 18th birthday to complete their requirements. Hillman, however, didn’t want to wait until the last minute.
“Then, if you don’t get approved, there’s nothing you can do to change it,” he said. “It’s good to be done and know that I finally reached the goal, but still have two more years to spend with the troop.”
